Channel Edit for LG TVs Help

Für Deutsch bitte hier klicken

Step 1: export the station list from your LG TV set. You can find a good description here:
https://sourceforge.net/p/chansort/wiki/LG%20TVs/

Step 2: load the list (“GlobalClone00001.TLL”) into Channel Edit. You can do it either per Drag and Drop to the list of an empty document or using the “File -> Open…” function. Double-clicking the file should work, too.

Step 3:
edit the list. You can

  1. edit the program number of a station by double-clicking into the “Program #” field,
  2. select a single station or multiple at once and drag them using the mouse,
  3. move selected stations using the button “Move selection…”,
  4. change the status of “Skip” and “Child lock” by clicking on the box (or by using the menu items in “Edit” menu on multiple selected items),
  5. for analog stations you can also change the station name by clicking into the “Program name” field.

By typing in letters in the search field, the stations are filtered to match this string.

Switch between the lists selecting “Radio programs” – “TV programs”. The switch below lets you choose the list for the inputs, as there are:
  1. Cable digital
  2. Satellite digital
  3. Antenna digital
  4. Analog inputs

Step 4: with selecting “File->Save” the list is stored back and can be reimported on the TV set. Again you can find good information about the reimport procedure here:
https://sourceforge.net/p/chansort/wiki/LG%20TVs/

Apply external channel order:
By clicking the button “Apply order from list…” you can select another TLL file or “reference list” file, whose station numbers are then used for the current selected list.
Sample format for a reference list file:

1;Das Erste HD;1-1051-11100
2;ZDF HD;1-1079-11110
3;RTL HD;61441-10015-50012

Format definition:
Program_number;Station_name;ONID-TransportStreamID-ServiceID

Info button: While having a station selection, you can view the information contained in the list about it by clicking on the round (ℹ︎) button below the list. But this is more or less experts information.

In order to try out the software, you can
download two sample lists here.

Attention: The classification into HD, SD, UHD stations is not 100% correct. The station information in the TLL files contain the transmission format. So stations are categorized by the method typically used for HD, SD and UHD. But there are a few HD stations using SD methods and UHD stations using HD methods, so do not rely on this.
