Can I afford instant replay with an ATEM TVS and HyperDeck Mini's?
We have different types of ATEM`s for testing here, also the TV-Studio. I would recommend the following solution: If you have more than one camera and more than on HyperDeck Mini, you can connect every desired camera to a HyperDeck Mini and the Deck to the ATEM. The HyperDeck doesn‘t record continously, when you play back the replay, therefore you need another device to record the PGM Output of the ATEM. And the most important thing is, that a HyperDeck Mini play out only the Livesignal or the playbacksignal on the SDI-out. Therefore you need an e.g. Blackmagic SDI-HDMI Converter for every Camera-channel to split the livesignal for the HyperDeck Mini and the ATEM. Then you connect the HDMI-out from the Converter to the TV-Studio input 1-4, and the HyperDeck Mini out to the TV-Studio 5-8. Now you have on channel 1-4 the Livesignal from up to 4 cameras and on 5-8 the playback signal from up to 4 HyperDeck Mini.
If You have only one HyperDeck, you can connect its input to the Aux out of the TV-Studio, on which you can select every connected camera. Connect the output of the Hyperdeck then to the desired input of the TV-Studio, e.g. 5-8. On this channel can you see the instant replay. Please be careful by this solution with a feedback, if you switch the HyperDeck TV-Studio Channel to the Aux, that can cause an audio feedback.
